Treasure Hunt Details

Feed the homeless– We have a large number of homeless people in Alvin, some of which live in National Oak Park and surrounding areas. Take a meal or restaurant gift card to someone less fortunate than we are.

Read to the students at Alvin Methodist Preschool-  Preschool Director Melissa Ward invites you to read to our students. School hours are Mon.-Thurs. from 9-12. If you would like to call ahead of your arrival the preschool number is 281-968-7164.

Visit a nursing home resident– Laurel Court on Mustang Rd. is accepting visitors. You must call ahead and schedule a time. Their number is 281-824-0070.  Feel free to contact any other nursing home of your choosing to see if they are currently accepting visitors. You could also leave a gift for a resident.

Adopt a Senior– The graduating class for Alvin ISD 2021 have a Facebook group page in which you can Adopt a senior from Alvin, Manvel, Shadow Creek, and Rise Academy High Schools. Simply type “Adopt a Senior 2021” into the Facebook Search area as shown below. Choose a student who does not say “ADOPTED”. Give them gifts for college and encouragements for life after High School.

Donate food to Alvin Blessing Box – There are blessing boxes all over town in which people donate non-perishable foods for those who may be hungry in our area. Locations are as follows:  Alvin Church of Christ 1325 S. Johnson Alvin, Grace Episcopal Church 200 W Lang (Box is on Hardie)(refridgerated box at this location), Area Safe and Lock 2004 S Gordon St, Lexi’s Wings 317 W Lang, Kibbe Stockwell Properties 206 S Gordon St, Faith Community Church 620 E. House St.

Clean out your pantry for Brown Bag Sunday– Fed by Faith ministry will have a food drive here at Alvin Methodist on Sunday May 16th. Brown bags are available now in the church main hallway and in front of the sanctuary.

Participate in Teacher Appreciation Week–  Bring a gift or gift card to a teacher in Alvin Methodist Preschool or any Alvin ISD school the week of May 3rd-6th.

Pay for Someone Else’s Meal –  Ask your waiter to give you someone else’s check to pay or ask to pay for the car behind you while in line at a drive thru. It’s called paying it forward!

Bring a Brown Bag to a Neighbor – Grab an extra brown bag from the church and ask your neighbor if they have any food to donate to the Fed By
Faith Food Drive on Sunday May 16th. Offer to pick it up from them and take it to the church for them.

Donate an Item from Kidz Harbor’ Wish List– Kidz Harbor is a non-profit safe refuge for children in our area who have been removed from their home for whatever reason. They are always in need of extra supplies. A list of needs can be found on their website: They are located at 638 Harbor Dr. at Liverpool, TX. 77577

Donate a book to the book boxes around town– Donate a new or gently used  children’s book to the one of book boxes located around town. Two locations are Johnson Street and Sealy St.

Take Water to the Alvin Fire Station–  You can drop off a case of water any week day from 7am-6pm and Tuesdays from 7:30pm-9pm.

Call someone on the prayer list– Below you will find the current prayer list. Call the church office for any phone numbers you may need. Phone numbers are also listed in the back of the church directory.
