Celebration Women's Ministries
Celebration is Alvin FUMC's newest addition to women's ministry. Celebration serves as both an "umbrella" and foundation for women's ministries in which the focus is salvation, healing, and equipping. By offering both speakers and studies in these three areas, Celebration meets the full range of women's needs.
Praise and worship is the heart of why we assemble as believers, for in worship we not only meditate on the goodness of God, we express our love and thanksgiving and celebrate with joy the wonder of His grace given to us in His Son, Jesus Christ.

United Methodist Women
|
United Methodist Women has roots that reach back to 1869 whose purpose is to foster spiritual growth, develop leaders and advocate for justice. Members of the UMW globally raise nearly $25 million each year for programs and projects related to women, children and youth in the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world. The local church unit of United Methodist Women is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
Alvin FUMC's UMW meets monthly and has been a source of encouragement and faith building as well as support for generations of women. |

BIBLE STUDIES

We have several Bible studies which happen throughout the year. Below are those studies which are currently being offered specifically geared towards women. For more information on any of these studies, do not hesitate to call the

Motherwise:
This Bible study encourages women and, through them, their families into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Through Bible Studies and mentoring the goal is to inspire mothers to profess faith in Jesus Christ, to pass on the blessing of effective communication about her faith to her children, and to provide her with Biblical and practical information about mothering skills that will give her the tools to empower and not impair her children.
Beth Moore Bible Studies:
This is a small group study based on DVD teaching from Beth Moore. The current study is on Proverbs and they meet weekly in the Parlor.
FIRST PLACE
is a Christ-centered health program for men and women of all ages. Using a support system that incorporates Bible study, Scripture memorization, prayer and balanced eating and exercise plans. First Place provides the opportunity to change your life, not only physically but spiritually and emotionally. First place meets at the church and at the Alvin YMCA.
