Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and nurturing Preschool Music Teacher to inspire a love of music in young children. The ideal candidate enjoys working with preschool-aged children, creates engaging and age-appropriate music experiences, and fosters a positive, encouraging learning environment. This role includes leading interactive music classes through singing, movement, rhythm activities, instrument exploration, and musical games that support children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead fun, developmentally appropriate music classes for children ages 2–5.
• Teach basic musical concepts through songs, movement, rhythm, storytelling, and hands-on activities.
• Incorporate age-appropriate Christian songs, Bible stories, and seasonal worship music into lessons.
• Encourage participation while building children's confidence, creativity, and self-expression.
• Introduce a variety of musical styles, instruments, and cultural traditions.
• Prepare lesson plans and organize materials and instruments for each class.
• Foster a loving, positive, inclusive and Christ-centered classroom environment.
• Collaborate with staff and classroom teachers to support classroom learning and special church or preschool events.
• Prepare children for performances when appropriate.
• Maintain music equipment, instruments, and classroom supplies.
• Follow all church and preschool safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to sing confidently and lead group activities.
• Experience teaching music to preschool or early elementary-aged children is a plus.
• Basic piano, guitar, or other accompanying instrument skills are a plus.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Energetic, patient, dependable, and passionate about working with young children.
• Ability to pass required background checks and meet state licensing requirements.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred.

 
Schedule

• Part-time position.
• Monday through Thursday during preschool operating hours, with occasional staff meetings, in-service days and special events.
