Growing together.

Whoever you are, wherever you're from, you are welcome here.

RELENTLESS is the name of our student minstry which is specifically designed for middle school and high school students. Each week we gather together to worship the only one worthy of our time, effort and devotion- JESUS.

Student Camps

Big House | Junior High Mission Trip

Big House is our summer junior high mission trip also known as the “little brother” of UMARMY (our High School Mission Trip). Big House gives the Junior High Students the opportunity to go out into the surrounding Houston community and be the hands and feet of Christ.

Their service consists of manual labor; that being yard work, clean up, demolition, etc., anything and everything that can be done without power tools. Our purpose of this camp is to challenge your child to grow into a meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ while serving in his name. We believe that the best way to grow into relationship with Christ is acting as Jesus did and that is by putting ourselves as servants to those who we are called to love.

The students will have the opportunity to serve next to and with other Methodist church youth and adults for the weekend and will have the opportunity to see how Christ has affected others’ lives as well as share how Christ has personally affected theirs. Come join us this summer as we embark to spread the amazing name of Jesus!Student must have completed  6th - 8th grades.

College Scholarships

The FUMC Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to graduating seniors and current college students pursuing post-high school degrees or technical certifications.  Applicants do not have to be a member of First United Methodist Church of Alvin, but must have been active in FUMC activities and demonstrate devotion to Christian principles. Applicants must provide details about the Church activities they have participated in at FUMC and how those activities have shaped their Christian principles.

FUMC also has six Endowment Scholarship Trust Funds established by past and present FUMC members. The annual interest income from each Trust provides the money available each year. These scholarships have specific qualification requirements.
