Prayer Day 18

Seeking God to Renew our Passion for Worship (Read Romans 11: 33-36)

"But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation always say, “Let God be exalted!”" (Psalm 70:4)

““Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, for true and just are his judgments.” “(Revelation 19:1-2)

Steve Hawthorne writes this prayer: “We love Your salvation. You have saved our souls from destruction. You are saving our families from dissolution. You are lifting our minds from depression. You are preserving our society for a day of even greater salvation. We love the way You relentlessly save us. You deserve more than an occasional “Thank You” from a few. Fill our city with lasting gratitude toward You. We want You to be greatly known, undeniably revealed, vastly followed and lavishly honored. And so we cry, “Let God be exalted in our lives! May Jesus Christ be exalted as the Savior of the world!”

We ask that the Lord would make us passionate worshipers who desire that all would lift up Your Name, for You are worthy of all praise!

PRAYER

  • Pray that God’s Spirit will fill us in the same way that Jesus was filled with joy through the Holy Spirit (Luke 10:21).
  • Pray that despair and depression will be overcome with a renewed joy that filled Jesus.
  • Praise God for the many musical talents and gifts that He has given to our congregation.
  • Praise God for the worship planners who strive to plan services that enable us to join our gifts and voices in praise to God.
  • Pray that matters of worship styles and form will not become points of division for us.

As God brings to us greater ethnic diversity in our community, pray that our worship will faithfully reflect and be nourished by this diversity.
