DAY 5 | Acts 4:1-22
Picture a sturdy oak tree, deeply rooted with branches that sway but don't break, even in the fiercest of storms. This tree is a symbol of resilience, standing tall and unyielding against challenges. Peter and John, in Acts 4:1-22, exhibit the strength and unwavering resolve of this mighty oak.
When they healed the lame man in Jesus' name, it wasn’t met with universal acclaim. Instead, they found themselves arrested, standing before rulers, elders, and teachers of the law. Yet, even amidst intimidation, they didn't shrink back. With boldness, Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, proclaimed, "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved."
The leaders, seeing their courage and realizing they were ordinary men, were astonished. They recognized these men had been with Jesus. Though they tried to silence them, Peter and John replied, "We cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard."
In our own lives, we often encounter storms – moments of opposition, ridicule, or doubt. Acts 4:1-22 encourages us to be like that oak tree, firmly rooted in our faith. When our foundation is Christ, and our nourishment comes from the Holy Spirit, no gust of adversity can topple us. Today, let us stand tall, drawing strength from our Savior, and unapologetically proclaim the wonders of His love and grace.
