Acts Day 15

DAY 15 | Acts 9:23-43

Imagine a serene pond. A single pebble is thrown in, and from its point of impact, ripples expand outward in concentric circles, influencing a much larger area than the pebble itself. The episodes in Acts 9:23-43 can be visualized as a series of such impactful events, each creating ripples that spread the influence of God's Kingdom further and wider.

Starting with Saul, his bold proclamation of Jesus sends shockwaves throughout the community, turning the once persecutor into a target of persecution. His narrow escape, facilitated by fellow believers, sends its own ripple, showing that the new faith is not only about words but also about community and action.

As the narrative shifts to Aeneas, his miraculous healing becomes another pebble in the pond. The ripples from this event touch Sharon and Lydda, drawing many to the Lord. Dorcas, in Joppa, adds another layer to the pattern. Known for her good deeds and compassion, her passing and subsequent resurrection create a powerful ripple, affirming the Lord's presence and power among His people.

Each of these events, like pebbles in a pond, contributes to the growing influence and spread of the early Church. And the ripples continue, reaching out far beyond the immediate vicinity.
As we reflect on this passage, let's consider the ripples we're creating in our own ponds. Even the smallest act, when done in God's name, can have far-reaching effects, expanding the Kingdom in ways we might never imagine.
