Acts Day 20

Visualize the early Church as a ship sailing upon God's vast ocean. The Church at Antioch is its compass, guiding its direction through worship and fasting. The Holy Spirit, like a steady wind, fills its sails, steering Barnabas and Saul toward their divine destinations.

Three significant navigational lessons emerge from this passage:

1. Charting the Course in Worship: Just as a sailor listens to the whispers of the wind to guide the ship, the Holy Spirit spoke amidst worship. This signifies the importance of tuning into God's whispers during our intimate moments of worship. Can we discern His direction amidst our praises?
2. A Redeemed Voyage: Saul, later known as Paul, was once lost at sea, spiritually speaking. Yet, in the vastness of God's ocean of grace, he was given a new heading. His story reminds us that no matter how off-course we've been, God’s wind can redirect us to His purpose.
3. Remembering Past Voyages: As Paul begins his mission, he recounts the journey of Israel, marking the lighthouses and landmarks leading up to Jesus. It serves as a reminder of God's navigational beacons throughout history, illuminating His path of faithfulness.

Acts 13 is about navigating the vast waters of God's will. Just as the Holy Spirit guided the early Church, so too does He guide us today. In our worship, may we be sensitive to His leading, recalling His faithfulness, and always ready to go where He calls. Today, as you step into your mission field, whether it's at work, home, or elsewhere, remember that you are divinely appointed and affirmed by God for His purposes.
