DAY TWENTY THREE | Acts 14:21-28
Picture a refinery, where raw materials are transformed into something purer, more valuable. Acts 14:21-28 presents the early Church as this spiritual refinery, a place of both trials and transformation.
Paul and Barnabas, after facing immense challenges, return to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch. They don't come back to boast of their successes, but to strengthen the disciples and encourage them to remain true to the faith. They deliver a powerful message: "We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God."
In the spiritual refinery, hardships act as the purifying fire. Just as gold becomes purer as impurities are burned away, our faith becomes stronger, more resilient, when tested. Paul and Barnabas understood this well. Their journey wasn’t just about spreading the Gospel, but also ensuring that new believers were equipped to face the fiery trials ahead.
