Acts Day 31

DAY THIRTY ONE | Acts 18: 18-28

Envision a relay race, where runners pass the baton seamlessly from one to the next, each covering a portion of the track, collectively aiming for the finish line. Acts 18:18-28 unfolds like such a relay, where knowledge, teaching, and testimony are passed from one servant of God to another, together advancing the Kingdom.

Paul, having planted seeds of faith in Corinth, takes to the road (or rather, the sea), with Priscilla and Aquila by his side. Their journey represents one leg of the relay, with each port or city being a stretch of track where the Gospel baton is handed to eager recipients.

In Ephesus, while Paul continues his race elsewhere, another runner emerges: Apollos. Eloquent and fervent, Apollos dashes forward, but his grip on the baton—the full understanding of the Gospel—is not yet firm. Enter Priscilla and Aquila, who, in the spirit of a supportive team, coach him, refining his grasp on the message of Jesus.

Through this passage, we're reminded that our Christian journey is a collaborative relay. While we each run our own stretches, there are moments to pass on what we know and moments to receive insight from others. It's a race that values the collective over the individual.

Today, as you run your leg of the race, remember that you're part of a grand relay. Be ready to pass on the baton of knowledge and also to receive it, knowing that every exchange brings us closer to the ultimate finish line – God's glorious Kingdom.
