Acts Day 36

DAY 36 | Acts 20: 17-38

In rolling countrysides, shepherds lead their flocks with unwavering dedication, guarding them against threats and ensuring they're nurtured. Acts 20:17-38 portrays Paul as a spiritual shepherd, tending to God's flock with a heart full of love and concern.

Paul's poignant farewell to the Ephesian elders reveals the depth of his pastoral care. He had given tirelessly of himself, teaching in public and from house to house, always aiming to guide them in truth. Much like a shepherd who braves storms to protect his sheep, Paul faced persecution, yet his resolve never wavered. He knew the challenges that lay ahead for the church, with "savage wolves" threatening to scatter the flock. His warnings were earnest, his counsel sincere — characteristics of a true shepherd.

This passage isn't just a historical note but a timeless reminder. Spiritual shepherds are called to guide with love, sacrifice, and vigilance. Paul's heartfelt goodbye, marked by tears and prayers, epitomizes a shepherd's heart that deeply cares for each member of the flock.

As we journey in faith, let's be thankful for the shepherds God places in our lives and strive to shepherd others with the same love and dedication showcased by Paul.
