READING:
Genesis 6:11 ‐ 8:19, 9:8‐17
KEY VERSE:
Then God said to Noah, “As for me, I am establishing my covenant with you and your descendants after you, and with every living creature that is with you, the birds, the domestic animals, and every animal of the earth with you, as many as came out of the ark.
REFLECTION:
After Adam and Eve, people continue to try to do things their own way instead of God’s way. Finally things got so bad that God decided to wipe out everything in a flood, but he found one family who will obey Him so that God can save humankind and let them try again. After the flood God made a promise that he would never again send a flood to destroy the world. As a sign of this promise, he put a rainbow in the clouds.
PRAYER:
Lord, You save your people from destruction. You made a covenant with Your faithful ones—with Noah and with us. Thank you for keeping all your promises to us. Amen.
