Preparation for the Christmas season can often feel busy and frantic, but it doesn't have to be this way. What if we stopped and listened to the movement and unfolding of God's plan around us? This Christmas we want to invite you to make room for what matters most, away from the chaos and into the space where God is at work.
Christmas Concert | Nov. 29, 7:30pm
Come experience the sounds of the Alvin Community Concert Choir, Chamber Choir and the Alvin Community Choir present "Gloria" by John Rutter. Admission is free.
Lessons and Carols | Dec. 4, 10:30am
Join us for our Service of Lessons and Carols as we travel through Advent to the Nativity with the reading of Scripture and the singing of Carols. This family service will be a particularly fitting way to celebrate Christmas this year as we all present Bibles to all kids that Sunday.
Senior Luncheon | Dec. 7, 11:00am
If you like to celebrate the holidays with friends while laughing hysterically, this is the event for you. (Due to current construction this event will be hosted by South Park Baptist in Fellowship Hall)
Joy Gift Sunday | Dec. 11
Our largest missions fundraiser of the Christmas season, bring an unwrapped gift for a boy or girl in the community. All gifts will be donated to kids in the community through Alvin Hope.
Christmas Walk-A-Mile | Dec. 12
Join us as the churches of Alvin gather to celebrate the Christmas season by traveling from church to church to sing carols and tell the Christmas story. We will begin at New Hope Church at 6pm and end at First Methodist Church.
Christmas Cookie Sunday | Dec. 18
Bring in the Christmas season with your favorite holiday cookies (at least one dozen) to share with your church family. We will have two locations (one in the foyer and one behind the Sanctuary.) The church will provide Wassail & Coffee.
Christmas Eve | 6pm & 11pm
The family-friendly service will include singing Christmas carols with an engaging telling of the Christmas story. We will conclude the service by lighting candles and singing Silent Night. The service should last about an hour. Invite your friends and family and let’s make room for the true reason for the season!
Christmas Day | 10:30am
Join us on Christmas Day for a service where we will hear a Christmas devotional and sing our favorite Christmas songs.
