WHO ARE WE?

The Branch is a modern/contemporary worship community, which meets at 5:00pm in the Fellowship Hall.
THE BRANCH IN SCRIPTURE
  • Jesus as the Branch:
Isaiah 11:1 proclaims, “A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots, a Branch will bear fruit.” This passage ties directly to your Advent series and emphasizes Jesus as the fulfillment of God's promise, a source of life and hope.
  • Connection to the Vine:
In John 15:5, Jesus says, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit.” This highlights the importance of abiding in Christ for spiritual vitality and fruitfulness.
  • Unity and Support:
Romans 11:17 uses the imagery of branches grafted into the olive tree to represent unity and inclusion in God’s family, reminding us that all are welcome in Christ.
OAK TREES AS A SYMBOL IN ALVIN
  • Oak trees were planted over a century ago throughout Alvin and have been an enduring symbol for the community. They provide shade, stability, and shelter, qualities that mirror the church’s mission to be a place of spiritual refuge and growth.
    • Deep Roots:
The oak's deep roots symbolize a firm foundation in God’s Word, a value foundational to your vision of a Bible-focused church encouraging daily reading and prayer.
    • Branches That Reach Out:
Like the spreading branches of an oak tree, the modern worship service can symbolize outreach and connection, inviting young families and modern seekers to encounter God in fresh, relevant ways.
HOPE FOR THE BRANCH WORSHIP
  • Connection to God:
The service is designed to draw people closer to Jesus, the true vine, fostering a dynamic, Spirit-filled relationship with Him.
  • Connection to Each Other:
Like branches intertwining in a tree, the service creates a community where people can support one another, forming relationships that bear the weight of life’s challenges.
  • Outreach and Hospitality:
Just as oak branches provide shelter, this service will create a welcoming space for young families and new seekers, offering spiritual refuge and encouragement.
