This past week was nothing short of magical. Snow. In. Texas! Can you believe it? My family and I soaked up every second of this rare winter wonderland. We built snowmen (some of them a little lopsided), engaged in some friendly snowball battles, and enjoyed walks with that satisfying crunch of snow underfoot. These moments felt like pure joy—a once-in-a-generation gift straight from God.
As I stood there watching the snow fall, I couldn’t help but reflect on how it connects to God’s beauty and grace. Snow is such an incredible metaphor for God’s work in our lives. Isaiah 1:18 says, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.” Think about that for a moment. Just as the snow transforms everything it touches into a sparkling blanket of white, God’s grace covers us completely, making us new and whole again.
And then there’s the wonder of it all! Psalm 19:1 reminds us, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.” How often do we stop to marvel at the world around us? Whether it’s the rare snowfall or just the beauty of a crisp winter morning, God invites us to pause, look up, and see His handiwork everywhere.
This snow reminded me that life is full of unexpected blessings—those moments when God whispers, “Slow down and enjoy this.” As we embrace this new year, I want to carry that same sense of awe and renewal into our church family.
In the meantime, take a moment to reflect on the beauty around you—whether it’s snow, sunshine, or something as simple as a quiet moment with family. Let’s celebrate God’s blessings together this year!
